The national Kazakh airline Air Astana and the largest Russian private airline, S7 Airlines, are expanding their cooperation and have signed a codeshare agreement for flights between Kazakhstan and Russia. From now on, Air Astana flights from the nur-Sultan (formerly Astana) and Almaty hubs to Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg will also carry S7 Airlines flight numbers. Conversely, S7 Airlines flights can now be booked on the connections from Nur-Sultan and Almaty to Novosibirsk under an Air Astana flight number.
Thanks to the new codeshare agreement, the passengers of both airlines will have a greater choice of travel options and will benefit from shorter stopovers when connecting flights. For example, S7 Airlines passengers can now choose between ten weekly connections between the S7 hub in Novosibirsk and the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan. Air Astana guests also have new options such as flights from Stockholm via St. Petersburg to Almaty or Nur-Sultan.
