Metro Exodus: the DLC and the contents of the expansion pass have been revealed
There will be two great DLC entirely dedicated to history, which will follow brand new adventures in the world of Metro. Instead of Artyom, players will have the chance to take on the role of a brand new character and one of the Spartan Rangers, the only American from Aurora, Sam. Both will be available as part of the expansion pass, but can also be purchased separately. A brief warning: if you haven't completed the Metro Exodus campaign yet, the following contains spoilers.
Coming in the summer of 2019, the first story the players will follow, The Two Colonels, features Colonel Khlebnikov in the dead city of Novosibirsk, as he makes his way back home to his son, Kirill, for New Years.
But the people of this city are not doing well at all: the slime is further consuming the tunnels, the attacks of mutants seem to have increased and the precious 'green substance' that protects people from radiation poisoning is about to end. In order to ensure the survival of any of the people, those responsible could take drastic measures ...
Following the journey and experiences of Khlebnikov during the last days of his life in Novosibirsk, which Colonel Miller traces a year later, players can relive the classic gameplay of the Metro series in this new linear chapter, complete with a completely new weapon , the deadly flamethrower, of claustrophobic environments and of the familiar tension that characterizes the saga.
The second DLC, Sam's Story, arriving in early 2020, is the brand new sandbox survival level based on Vladivostok. Sam, a US marine at the Moscow embassy before the bombings, has always dreamed of returning to his homeland, and perhaps of finding his family alive. The prospect seemed obviously impossible in the dark tunnels of the subway, but when the Spartans discovered that Moscow is not the only city left alive after the war, hope prevailed.
Sam moves away from the Aurora in search of a way back to the United States, thus arriving at the remains of the ports devastated by the Vladivostok tsunami and industrial buildings and ruined residential districts. To complete his journey, Sam will discover that he needs every tactic he has learned so far to survive, as the environment around him proves to be much more difficult than expected. Players will assist Sam on his journey through Vladivostok's sandbox landscape, embarking on a new journey through the wastelands of post-apocalyptic Russia.
